BHEL signs pact with Russian firm to undertake joint defence projects

State-run engineering firm BHEL on Wednesday said it has signed a pact with Rosoboronexport, Russia, for cooperation and undertaking projects for defence systems.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during the 5th India Russia Military Industrial conference held in Lucknow, BHEL said in a statement.

The aim of the MoU is to cooperate and undertake joint projects and operations for defence systems.

This will help in leveraging BHEL's capabilities in the defence sector in association with Russian OEMs under the Make in India' initiative and offer indigenous support and solutions to the Indian defence forces, it added.

BHEL to make emission control equipment for NTPC unit in Rs 840 cr deal

State-owned BHEL Sunday said it has won an order worth Rs 840 crore from an NTPC subsidiary for emission control equipment.

The company has bagged the order from Nabinagar Power Generating Company Ltd (NPGCL).

The order involves supply and installation of Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system for control of sulphur oxides emissions at the 3x660 MW Nabinagar project in Aurangabad district of Bihar, a BHEL statement said.

With this order, the company is presently executing FGD systems for 23 units of NTPC and its joint ventures.

Overall, BHEL has contracted FGD orders for 37 units from various customers till date.

BHEL bags order worth Rs 440 cr from NPCIL for nuclear power project in TN

State-owned BHEL on Tuesday said it has bagged an order worth over Rs 440 crore from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL).

"BHEL has secured an...order for the erection work of the upcoming 2x1000 MWe turbine generator (TG) island units 3 and 4 at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in Tamil Nadu being set up with foreign cooperation (Russia)," it said in a statement.

Significantly, for the same project, BHEL has also emerged as the lowest bidder for erection of the reactor side equipment.

Earlier, BHEL had successfully executed the erection work of TG island for units 1 and 2 at Kudankulam.
